For this year’s National Travel and Tourism Week, the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau is holding a Party in the Park, and you’re invited!

In order to celebrate the travel and tourism industry in our city, we’re hosting organizations and attractions from across Memphis all in one location, offering booths, fun activities, giveaways, entertainment and food trucks to guests.

NTTW was established as America’s annual salute to travel and tourism by congress in 1983. Put on by the the U.S. Travel Association‘s  annual salute to travel and tourism—was established by a congressional resolution in 1983.

This week gives travel communities and organizations, like the Memphis CVB, across the country the opportunity to boast and celebrate the impact that travel and tourism has on their community.

For Memphis specifically, the impact that travel and tourism has on our city expands both nationally and internationally. Over 10 million people visit our city every year, giving over $3 billion dollars towards the economy.

NTTW’s theme for this year hits home to the political atmosphere of our country, entitled “Travel ‘16.”

U.S. Travel states:

“There’s no debate about it—travel is a bipartisan industry that works for America.”

I encourage you all to join me, the CVB, and the organizations that lure people across the world to Memphis to celebrate NTTW.

Where: Court Square Park

When: May 3 from 11:00 –  2:30 PM
