I am so excited for the news that French America Line, a Mississippi River cruise ship, has chosen Beale Street Landing to add as a docking point on its itinerary starting this fall.

The addition of this cruise ship, and any others, to Memphis is great news for our already growing tourism market. With this means more hotel room stays and more sightseeing excursions. And with that means more dollars into our economy and tourism market.

The boat, called the Louisiane, has 75 rooms and can accommodate 150 passengers. The boat was build in 2000 and recently refurbished.

According to a press release by the company, the ship will have 24 departures between August and December of this year.

Here are some of the perks of this cruise:

  • Complimentary one-night pre-cruise deluxe hotel stay in your embarkation city with transfers to the Louisiane on sailing day
  • Complimentary custom-created shore excursions in every port of call
  • Complimentary house wines, select beers, house-brand spirits, artisanal coffees, teas, soft drinks and purified water throughout your voyage
  • Complimentary 24-hour room service
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Menus and food created by award-winning Chef de Cuisine Regina Charboneau
  • Boutique cruise experience with only 75 staterooms and suites
  • L’Occitane en Provence bath amenities
  • Plush spa-quality bathrobes, slippers and pillow menu in every stateroom and suite
  • Complimentary custom-created shore excursions in every port of call

The CommercialAppeal also discusses in an article that there are more opportunities for other cruises to add Memphis as one of their ports– which would mean even more tourism to our city! It will be fun to see how this new river cruise pans out and what is to come after.
