The National Education Association has declared today “Read Across America Day.”

As Dr. Seuss said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

This day is a celebration of reading. In a dual honor of Dr. Suess’ birthday, this day makes it a goal to spread the joy of reading to more children and young adults.

Libraries, book stores, and schools across the country are joining together to celebrate the day.

To help you promote your event, the NEA has provided downloadable ads, web banners, posters, activity guide, certificates,  and more, that can all be found on their website on the NEA.org.

With over 21.5 thousand tweets trending across Twitter, it seems like the event is really taking hold across the country.

If you’re celebrating #ReadAcrossAmericaDay, shout it out! There’s nothing as important for our children than education and the celebration of the joy of reading!
