The tourism stats from the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on January 2, where the Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Kansas State Wildcats 45-23, have rolled in- and it’s a feat for Bluff City.
Not only was the game sold out to an outstanding 61,136 people, but hotels were sold out and out-of-town fans hit up tons of local restaurants and historic places down Beale Street.
With this, I can confidently say that this year’s bowl game was the largest economic impact of any sports event in the history of Memphis.
It was even more important to note the fact that fans descended down to Memphis early to celebrate New Years Eve and New Years Day in the city.
From this, I am looking forward to hearing about all the exciting events that are to come in our city.
