The U.S. Travel Association has outlined some of the new trends in travel.
According to the U.S. Travel Association, the travel industry added 17,900 jobs and was responsible for more than one in every seven jobs added last month.
Also, according to the September U.S. Travel Barometer, three-quarters of U.S. residents with near-term travel intent searched for travel within the U.S. The U.S. also captured 48 percent of total global searches in September – the highest share since March of this year.
However, in regards to the lodging industry, this past August marked the first time in 69 months that U.S. hotels saw a decline in room demand, down 1.4 percent year over year to 70.7 percent, according to STR.
