The Cooper Young Festival is this weekend! Cooper-Young is a wonderful aspect in our great city of Memphis! Here is a list of the top 5 things you must see and take part in while at the festival.
- Artist Invitational
The CY Artist Invitational is a tradition that is loved by many Cooper Young residents and Memphis area residents. The invitation only show is just for artists who live or work in the Cooper Young neighborhood. All sales go back to the artist, the CYBA does not benefit monetarily from this event. According to the CY Fest website, everyone is encouraged to bring their friends and family to enjoy the art, live music and refreshments on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jay Etkin Gallery located at 942 South Cooper Street!
Who can go to the Cooper Young Fest and not enjoy the wonderful food? Check out these layout and booth maps to find your favorite food vendors while at the festival.
Along with food vendors, the CY festival is not slim with business vendors as well. Jewelry vendors, luxury soap, and glass works vendors are just a few of the businesses who will be on display at the Cooper Young Festival this year.
- 4 Miler
The Cooper Young 4 Miler is one of the most popular aspects of the Cooper Young Festival. This year, the race will be held on Friday, September 18th and will begin at 7:00pm. The race route takes you through the heart of Cooper Young, with tons of CY residents cheering you on along the way. Register here!
- Cooper Young History
Cooper Young was named one of the “Top 10 Great Neighborhoods in America” by the American Planning Association. Memphis has many historic neighborhoods, but none are quite like Cooper-Young. Cooper-Young has its own personality, style, and history. By attending the Cooper Young Festival, you will be able to embrace that history!
